Pretty Muddy 5k – Maidstone
It’s time to get muddy, have lots of laughs and raise some money for charity!
Saturday, 10th July the MF Kent Family will be supporting all the wonderful Ladies taking part in the Pretty Muddy 5k – Maidstone.
This is a wonderfully popular day for the whole family to enjoy for an amazing cause – Cancer Research.
No need to worry whether you are a runner – it’s a team effort and you are sure to have a lot of laughs. You do not need to be an MF Kent member – all are warmly welcome.
Our Ladies are taking part in the 11:45am start (group ID: OD9692).
We look forward to seeing you all there!
One of our wonderful Junior Instructors, Jasper, has recently gone out of his way to help the community clean up the local pond and communal area for the partially sighted as part of his Community Challenge.
As part of their J.C.I.T. journey, students must plan and be involved in something that benefits others in their community and Jasper has certainly done this – well done Jasper! This is a fantastic example of being a Black Belt outside of the Martial Arts class.
As part of the Junior Instructor assessment process, one of our team members, Lauren Russell, took the time to help much needed funds and awareness for Parkinson’s Disease.
This fund raising was part of the Community Challenge that Lauren undertook; being part of something that benefits others in the community. Lauren’s efforts helped raise over £600 which is a fantastic effort!
After her fund raising evening, Lauren then presented her work to her Martial Arts class in Canterbury which is a challenge in itself. However, she rose to the task and presented in a very confident, entertaining and informative way, so thank you and well done Lauren.
So far, 2016 has been a very exciting year! Even more so since we are working with lots of new schools across Kent who wish to provide safe, fun and educational alternatives to their curriculum / extra-curriculum provision.
Today we saw the launch of a NEW breakfast club at Boughton-Under-Blean & Dunkirk Primary School as well as a morning of PE lessons at St Edmund’s School, Canterbury.
In addition, we have extended our club provision with Dover College to 2 days a week with a new class every Tuesday.
Exciting times ahead working with forward thinking teachers & schools.

We are all very proud of Emma Watson who, as part of her Junior Instructor Certification, delivered a very engaging and educational Martial Arts P.E. lesson to her local Primary School.
Part of the J.C.I.T. assessment is to think of, organise and deliver a Community Challenge – something that will benefit others in the community.
In addition, Emma then presented her Challenge to her Martial Arts class in Canterbury. Well done Emma!
It took a great deal of courage to deliver this lesson and shows the huge progress that Emma has made over the past 12-mths and, in particular, since completing the J.C.I.T. weekend in February this year.
