NEW Family & Adult class

From 1st April 2016 we will be making a few changes to some of our classes which is great news for all of you adults and parents out there.

Whether you currently train in our adult programme but have to wait for you children to have their classes or you have been watching from the sidelines and always thought what it would be like to join in, or if you know somebody who you think would like to give it a try – NEW Family & Adult classes are here!

RECULVER

Family Class (7yrs+) – Wednesday, 5:00pm (holiday times apply)*

 

 

STAPLEHURST

Adult Class (12yrs+) – Thursday, 5:45pm (holiday times apply)*

* The Family Class will replace the normal Junior class & the Adult class will replace the current Senior class

Remember, we currently run a Family Class from Herne Community Centre

  • Saturday, 10:15am

If you would like to book your place (new members) please speak to your Instructor.

RECULVER

  • Usual school holiday timetable

HERNE

No classes Saturday, 26th March

STAPLEHURST

31st March & 7th April – All classes in the Village Centre (North Hall)

  • Mighty Matts & Juniors – 4:00pm
  • Seniors – 4:45pm
  • Weapons – 5:30pm

All other classes for all schools will remain the same through the School holidays.

Kent Panel Grading Success

Sunday, 13th March saw the first Kent Panel Grading for 2016 and what a fantastic start to the year it was.

A total of 37 students participated from both Mr Harris’s Schools and the MF Kent family and the standard across the board was fantastic!

After months and sometimes years of dedication & hard work it was wonderful to see all of you show just how great you are and earn your well-deserved promotions.

Tag-testing – NEW procedure starting today

Lots of Grading preparation coming up this week and next – tag testing starts today for both the Panel Grading (13th, March) & the Colour-belt Grading (20th March).

NEW FOR 2016

We will be implementing a NEW 2-tag system for Mighty Matts & Juniors:

  • Red tag – for homework (to be handed in BEFORE the Grading)
  • Black tag – techniques & attitude (as usual)

Students must earn both tags to be able to grade.

MF Kent students excel on Junior Instructor Course

I am extremely proud to share that the following students passed their Junior Instructor Course held in Swindon (20th & 21st February):

  • Emma Watson

  • Jasper Knight

The 2-day course was an intense weekend of team building, self-discovery, challenges and practical learning all designed to help the candidates give back and inspire the next generation of Martial Arts students.

Throughout the weekend, all of the MF Kent team showed amazing focus, enthusiasm and hard work and I am extremely proud of them all.

I am very much looking forward to seeing them put what they have learnt into practice and working towards the next phase of their J.C.I.T. qualification.

More schools working with MF Kent

Due to the success of our educational partnerships across Kent we are delighted to announce that we will be working with the following new schools from the end of February:
