2014 Southern Championships
Oasis Leisure Centre, Swindon
Saturday, 5th April
After months of hard work, sweat, laughter and even some tears the MF Kent Team headed up to Swindon for the 2014 Southern Championships for what was to be the largest regional tournament ever held. Over 270 competitors took part and the atmosphere was simply electric!
It takes a great deal of courage and heart to stand in front of a huge crowd and perform and so to watch each and every one of the team perform to their very best was inspiring. For some, it was their very first tournament and they are undoubtebly stronger Martial Artists for it.
Success on a day like this is not measured by medlas or trophies but by the knowledge that you have done your utmost and tried your hardest. I can say with a great deal of pride that this was the case throughout the team. Yes, we came home with a bag full of medals (15 in total), but this would not have been possible without the great team ethic we have and I have no doubt that we are a stronger Martial Arts family after the weekend.
Here are the amazing team members:

If you have not seen them already there is a huge number of fantastic photos on Facebook which really do capture what an amazing day it was. We train as a team and we competed as a team and all of that would not be possible without the unwaivering support and enthusiasm of our parents, family and friends who all went through the emotions of the day.
I would also like to thank Mrs Daly, Mr Cullen, Mr K Homewood, Mr B Homewood & Mrs Homewood for their motivation and hard work on the day as well as Mr Gill, Mrs Gibson and Mr Cseh for their help in preparing the team.
Congratulations to you all – you can be so proud of what you have achieved and I look forward to seeing you all in class to celebrate.
Master Finch
